Within an Educational setting, the setting not only need to meet the need of OFSTED & EYFS for children 0-18 years of age but also the HSE and Local Authority for the adults on site age 18 plus. Sadly the DofE and HSE haven’t come up with a a perfect solution yet that is cost effective and time efficient for staffing, so we have done it for you!

Blended Schools First Aid is a comprehensive course aimed at anyone working with both adults and children and a legal requirement to undertake a First Aid Qualification.

It consists of an 10 hour on line course followed by a face to face training session on successful completion the candidate will be awarded a Paediatric First Aid qualification and certificate as well an the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and certification.

The course practical day includes lunch, refreshments, and 3 year certification.

Your log in key will be sent approximately two weeks prior to your selected practical date. This course can be conducted within the setting or at our site.

*PLEASE NOTE* eLearning must be completed in full before you practical session, failure to do so will result in you not being able to attend the practical session. If you fail to attend your selected practical session a charge of  up to 75% of the original course price will be required to re book. this is in line with our TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Blended Schools First Aid is a comprehensive course consisting of an 10 hour on line course followed by a face to face training session on successful completion the candidate will be awarded a Paediatric First Aid qualification and certificate as well an the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and certification.

This online course can be completed on any PC or mobile device. Learners can study at their own pace and log in and out as often as they wish. Students will be tested on all topics during the eLearning and a certificate of completion is printed at the end and must be brought to the face to face training

The purpose of the face to face training is to give students lots of time for practical activities such as CPR, bleeding etc..

The face to face part can be delivered on site, at your premises or you can book onto one of our scheduled courses running monthly at our Haggs Farm, Rudding Estate training room.  All our scheduled courses come with lunch and refreshments .

Duration

A minimum of 18 hours makes up these two units consisting 10 hours on line completed prior to the face to face day of practical work. Please print your eLearning certificate and bring with you to face to face day.

Syllabus

  • This course will cover first aid procedures pertinent to a school environment:
    • The role of the first aider
    • Adult resuscitation (CPR)*
    • Child resuscitation (CPR)
    • Unresponsive child
    • Primary survey
    • Unresponsive adult
    • Communication and casualty care
    • Seizures and convulsions
    • Choking child
    • Allergic reaction
    • Choking adult
    • Diabetes
    • Asthma
    • Minor and severe bleeding
    • Burns
    • Head injuries
    • Giving medication at school (including auto-injectors) Anaphylaxis
    • Bone, muscle and joint injuries
    • Shock
    • Heat and cold
    • Eye Injuries
    • poisons
    • Sickle cell anaemia
    • Meningitis

Certification

Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical skills and there will be multiple choice question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge. A three year award in Paediatric First Aid  & Emergency First Aid at Work certificate will be issued subject to assessment.
