First Aid at Work Level 3

Our First Aid at Work Course is a comprehensive 3 day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level, and fulfils the requirements lAll Productsaid out by the https://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/for the purpose of meeting your First Aid at Work requirements under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 circa First Aid Regs 1989

Courses can be delivered on site, at your premises across Yorkshire or nationwide or you can book onto one of our scheduled courses, running monthly at our fully equipped training facility on the Rudding Park Estate Harrogate.  All our scheduled courses come with  refreshments.

Duration

A minimum of 18 hours spread over at least 3 days. Ideally, the course should be run over three consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs, providing the course is completed within a 10 week period from the start date.

Syllabus

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Resuscitation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
  • Bandaging
  • Fractures and spinal injuries
  • Heart Attacks
  • Choking
  • Control of bleeding
  • Head Injuries
  • Eye Injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Chest Injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Burns
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Stroke

Certification

Assessment is ongoing by the instructor along with a question paper on each day. A three year Award in First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
